Samuel

A 66-year-old farmer, father, and mentor.

We joined a group of 350 lenders by contributing $9,450 to Samuel’s microloan on August 8, 2021.

Samuel is a 66-year-old farmer who cultivates vegetables such as tomato, onion, green pepper, eggplant, and chives. He has become popular in his village by providing technical assistance and access to smaller farmers in his community. Through farming, he is able to earn an income that supports the basic need of his children. What’s cool is that his eldest son works on the farm with him – making it a family farming business.

Recently, Samuel started growing fruits such as papaya and banana for his family to eat. He learned that he could sell his surplus fruit for additional income so he is focused on expanding his fruit orchard. Hence, he was requesting this loan to produce more fruits to sell at the market to further increase his income.
