Providing kids affordable (and free) haircuts.

We joined a group of 61 lenders by contributing $100 to John’s microloan on October 8, 2021.

John runs a kids-only barbershop that provides affordable haircuts to kids living in low-income areas. He remembers growing up that his mom could not afford to get his haircut. So on Mondays, he provides haircuts to kids that can’t afford them. We think this is absolutely amazing.

John also mentions, “I love to see people, especially kids smile. I like to know that they feel confident after getting a haircut from me. One thing I know is that a person never forgets how you made them feel. I’m confident that I make kids feel good after they’ve gotten their haircut by me.”

That’s so true.

John was seeking this loan to help finance some upgrades and improvements to his barbershop – including new barber chairs and remodeling. He will also use it for marketing to bring in more customers and to begin selling the products he uses on the kid’s hair. Best of luck, John!
