An entrepreneur and a veteran on MLK.

We joined a group of 265 lenders by contributing $25 to Vernon’s microloan on January 17, 2021. We made this loan in honor of our Veterans.

First of all, Vernon is a veteran so we were thrilled to join the other lenders and fund his loan.

Secondly, he is an entrepreneur seeking a loan to start his car rental service to support his family while providing his community with an affordable car rental option. On his Kiva loan, Vernon states “I retired and struggled with finding steady employment on his Kiva loan, so I began driving taxi cabs to support my family. I met many individuals who had transportation issues that could not afford a car to drive of their own. I was inspired by the Turo platform to start a car rental business to serve the community with an affordable and efficient car rental service.“
