Looking to expand her mobile money business.

We joined a group of 30 lenders by contributing $50 to Deophister’s microloan on December 9, 2021.

Deophister owns a mobile money business. This was her second loan with Kiva. Her first loan helped increase her sales and has helped her business thrive. She used this loan to buy more inventory so she can continue to generate income to support her family.

What we love about this loan is that she will repay “social interest” on her loan by volunteering 3 hours of her time each week to the My Better World program where she will help students at a local secondary school build self-esteem and motivate them to stay in school. That is amazing.
