We crossed the $7000 mark with our biggest loan so far.

With our $150 microloan to Juliette from Faravohitra, Madagascar, we have reached two milestones:

First, we crossed the $7000 mark.

Secondly, $150 is the highest loan amount we have given to date.

One note on that second milestone: Our goal is not to distribute big loan amounts because we are working with limited (personal) funds, so we want to avoid risk. There is no guarantee that our loans will be repaid. So if we distribute a large percentage of our funding into one loan that is not repaid, then we lose the opportunity to help more people. Additionally, the power of microlending is that you are joining efforts with other people
