Our first loan was the result of a friendly bet. A bet where there was no loser. Only winners. I say that because the result of the bet led to a donation. Turns out that the winner and the loser both made a “donation”. But, it wasn’t a traditional donation. Instead, it was given in the form of a microloan on the lending platform Kiva.
Prior to this, we had never heard of Kiva before. But we loved its unique platform for giving. So we created an account and made our first microloan to Faostine.
